How to add a Trim manually in WILCOM e4.2

Definition of a Trim

Once we have digitized an embroidery design and if it has been properly processed, it can be sent to final production. But if we can drive a layout before production, it speeds up the production of the design considerably. Nearby objects are usually auto-linked during design driving۔ At this point, the objects that are at some distance from each other cannot be connected after a certain distance. In such a case, when the thread of the machine leaves one object and links another object, the thread between these two objects has to be cut due to the fear of showing the thread, thus creating a sophisticated design. This process of cutting the thread is called trimming۔

In various Embroidery machine designs, you can specify how to organize and interpret trim functions. A few machines understand specific trim codes. Others interpret different Jumps as a trim Function. Machines with an automatic trimmer may need to learn how to interpret trim functions and may shift and move the design when a trim code is experienced. For these machines. This trimming process can be done in two ways as manual and auto methods.

How to Add a Trim Manually

You can add trims to your design utilizing the Trim tool. At the point when you add trim along these stitches, the trim function is added to the current stitch. A few machines require empty stitches or empty jumps on one or the other side of the trim. If so for the machine you need to stitch to, you should insert them. Please Make sure that all stitches you trim have been tied in and off, otherwise, stitches will not be secured.

To apply the trim manually, move the machine needle to the desired position where the trim is to be applied. In other words, Travel to the needle position where you need to manage the Trim. Secondly, click the insert Trim symbol through the Function bar. A trim function is inserted at the current needle position. When you add trim in this way, the trim function is added to the current stitch.

How to remove unnecessary Trims

Basically, to remove the trim, you have to set the trim preferences from the connector’s settings, the details of which are covered in a separate article. But to eliminate the unnecessary trim immediately, bring the machine to the point where the trim is located. At this point, you can read the Trim function on the status bar, at which point you can end Trim by simply typing “J” on your keyboard.
